A Southeastern Dental Care, we believe it is our responsibility to keep up with the latest advancements in dental technology so we can provide our patients with the best possible care. Dr. Bui, and our entire team continually train and learn about the newest tools so we can deliver an even higher level of care. To learn about some of the great tools we use every day, simply read on below.
For patients of all ages, making dental care safer and more comfortable is important. Our Solea laser system is one advanced technology that allows us to offer treatments that are gentle and effective. From in depth, pain free treatments for patients suffering from gum disease to preparing teeth for advanced restorations, our Solea laser offers a wide range of treatments in complete comfort. For soft tissue treatments, Solea lasers are the ideal choice since they cauterize as they remove tissue significantly reducing bleeding and discomfort. More importantly, soft tissue laser treatments decrease risk of infection and improve comfort during the healing process. During hard tissue laser treatments, the Solea laser allows us to remove damaged or decayed tooth structure without numbing the mouth.

This is a small pen-sized camera that we can move around comfortably in your mouth to take high-resolution pictures of your teeth and gums. These can then be displayed on a large chairside monitor so your dentist can go over them with you. This camera is part of our CEREC system that allows us to create custom-made all-porcelain crowns in just an hour. These images are great for patients because they finally allow you to see exactly what your dentist is talking about. This will give you vital information about your oral health, as well as take some of the uncertainty and mystery out of dentistry, which is excellent for our more nervous patients.
Dentistry has been using X-rays for generations, and they are an essential part of the diagnostic process because they allow our team to look below the surface of your teeth and catch potentially hidden problems. Compared to traditional, film-based X-rays, digital X-rays are an improvement in every way imaginable:
Thanks to our digital impression system, we no longer need to use cold, foul-tasting dental putty to create dental impressions. As part of your treatment with CEREC, you’ll simply need to place your teeth on a small, handheld device…no messy putty needed! Within seconds, a complete three-dimensional image of your teeth and bite will be created, and you’ll be able to see this process from the comfort of your treatment chair. This process is not only more comfortable, but it also gives us a much more accurate impression than the traditional method. This can be instantly fed to our CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/manufacturing) software, which will help us design and mill your custom restoration in as little as an hour (as opposed to the week the traditional method required).
Lasers were first introduced into dentistry in 1994, and now they are one of the most useful tools we have. With our soft tissue laser, we can perform sensitive periodontal (gum disease) therapy with ease, and we can also use it for cosmetic gum recontouring. The tool relies on a highly concentrated beam of light, and this can be used to instantly vaporize harmful bacteria or remove unwanted gum tissue. The light is precise, sterilizes as it goes, and even eliminates any bleeding that might occur. This tool is so refined, in fact, that most procedures can be performed without even needing local anesthesia.
What are you breathing in? We do not want our patients to inhale anything but the purest, most healthful air. That is why we have invested in the Surgically Clean Air purification system. It uses advanced six-stage filtration to remove dust, pollen, allergens, viruses, bio-aerosols, and much more from the air in our office. It even has a negative ion generator to make the air feel as energizing as possible.
