Children need dental care too. From the moment that your little one is born, his or her smile is growing, changing, and developing. Southeastern Dental Care wants to be there for the entire journey! We’re a family dental practice that strives to make your entire family feel right at home, and that includes providing children’s dentistry that meets the specific and unique needs of your loved ones!
Because children’s teeth are just beginning to develop, they’re not quite as strong as adult teeth. Part of children’s dentistry is helping children and their vulnerable smiles avoid huge problems like cavities during these years. Using fluoride treatments, we can encourage your child’s teeth to become stronger; fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that strengthens tooth enamel. Once your child’s adult molars come in, we’ll be there to place dental sealants on them too, filling in the chewing surface crevices with clear plastic material to keep out the plaque and debris that cause cavities.
We’ll also guide you and your child through proper oral hygiene routines. When your child is very young, you’ll need to clean his or her teeth – usually up until around the age of 7. Kids just can’t be as thorough as we’d like when they’re very young, but their teeth still need cleaning. Then, as your child gets older, we’ll check to make sure that he or she is effectively cleaning his or her teeth and provide pointers for brushing and flossing.
Contact Southeastern Dental Care to schedule your child’s next dental appointment. Because we feature kid-friendly hours, parents appreciate our commitment to helping their children experience excellent oral health at every stage.
